LEED Green Associate Exam Eligibility To submit an application for the LEED Green Associate exam, you must meet or exceed at least one of the following prerequisites: 1. Attendance of an green education program that addresses sustainable building principles, OR 2. Documented involvement on a LEED-registered project 3. The EIA Green Associate course, online or in person, qualifies you to sit for the LEED Green Associate exam. After your course completion, we will provide you with an electronic certificate of completion that you can submit with your application to the GBCI. To obtain the LEED Green Associate (LEED GA), you must take and take a 2-hour, 100 question, multiple-choice exam which tests your understanding of green building and core concepts covered in EIA’s LEED GA course. |

The first step is the LEED Green Associate. This credential covers the core concepts of sustainability and green building plus a basic understanding of the USGBC, GBCI and how buildings become LEED certified. This accreditation is also a requirement of the LEED AP specialty exams. However, the LEED GA by itself it is very beneficial for those seeking to show a general working knowledge of LEED and green principals and sustainable building methods.
