Prerequisites
LEED AP Exam Prerequisites
Acquiring the LEED AP ID+C exam has two prerequisites:
- You must acquire the LEED Green Associate credential or be a legacy LEED AP.
You must have documented experience on a LEED project.
LEED Green Associate
If you are not a legacy LEED AP, you must have a LEED Green Associate credential to receive the LEED ID+C. The LEED Green Associate and LEED ID+C exams are designed to be taken back-to-back, and candidates often attempt them this way. EIA LEED AP Boot Camps rapidly prepare you for both exams - and can also save you money! Learn more.
LEED Experience
To take the LEED AP ID+C exam, you must have previous experience with a LEED Registered Project within three years of your application submittal date.
This work experience must be documented and submitted during the application process. Usually, this is a letter of attestation from a supervisor, client, or project manager. Learn more about the application process.
If you do not have previous experience on a LEED project, EIA can help you obtain the practical experience you need to qualify for the LEED project. Call us at 800-459-3090 and talk with one of our LEED advisers for details.
