Pro-Tip 1: Begin with the End in Mind
This small step creates wonderous results:- Most managers will recognize that you are becoming more valuable by investing in yourself, setting you apart from your colleagues. Many companies will pay for your classes and exams. Companies can even be reimbursed for training investments from local agencies. (Ask us how!) You may begin to recognize some benefits of becoming a LEED AP by just intending to take the exam!
- Announcing your intention to become a LEED AP to your friends and colleagues will create natural peer-pressure, as they will begin to ask you how the studying is going and when you plan to take the exam.
- Support will appear from the places you least expect. People who have already become accredited will respect your goal and will offer their support and advice. Even better, you may encourage others "on the fence" about becoming a LEED AP to follow your lead and study with you as you prepare for the exam.
The best motivator of all: scheduling the exam! An upcoming test date provides unmatched incentive to buckle down and study for the big day.
